If your H50 is struggling to get a GPS signal or find nearby courses, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
First-Time GPS Use
When using the H50 for the first time, it can take 5–10 minutes to get an initial GPS fix.
After the first successful connection, the device should connect much more quickly in future.
Check Your Location
The H50 requires a clear view of the sky to connect to GPS.
Make sure you are:
Outdoors
In an open area
Not inside a building or vehicle
The device will not be able to get a GPS fix indoors or inside a car.
Restart the Device
Restarting the device can help reset the GPS connection.
Turn the H50 on
Press and hold the power button
Select Restart when the option appears
Once restarted, go outside and try to start a round again
What to Look For
When trying to start a round:
The device should begin searching for courses nearby
If a signal is found but you aren't near a course you will see the message “No courses within 1km”
If the device continues searching without finding a course, allow a few minutes for it to establish a GPS fix.
Check Firmware Update
During setup, the app may prompt a firmware update.
Make sure your H50 is running the latest firmware by connecting it to the Shot Scope app.
